Mindfulness in the park combines movement and meditative practices with the sounds, smells, and sights of nature. The class begins with focusing mindfulness exercises. We then move through a series of movements which help to loosen up your body and leave you feeling supple and strong. Class ends with a mindful walking meditation.
Meditation and mindfulness practices are shown to reduce stress, increase creativity and focus, and replenish lost energy Practicing mindful movement will give you skills to help you in any situation. Whether you feel sluggish or over-stimulated, stressed out or unfocused, or simply in need of a little self-care, you will be able to use the practices from these classes to soothe and balance yourself.
You do not need any experience with yoga or meditation to participate in this class. The method is simple and each individual takes it at their own pace.
