Hello

My name is Carol and I’ve been doing these practices for over 10 years.


My mindfulness practice allows me to balance the physical, mental, and emotional demands of daily life.

Each day I do a little bit to keep my body fit and mobile, to keep my mind calm and focused, and to replenish lost energy. 

Using these practices, I can live the life I want to live with ease of movement and comfort of heart.

PEDAGOGY

My goal is to help others to create self-care practices for themselves. As a teacher, I aim to guide students to be more self-aware and to trust themselves. Kindness, patience, and compassion are essential to success. Ultimately I cannot tell anyone else what they need; I can at most offer advice based on my years of experience. I see one of my most important roles as that of learner.

I operate a flipped classroom. In this pedagogic model the teacher guides students as they themselves apply concepts and engage creatively with their own somatic experience. I aim to create a space where my students can feel safe and supported in creating their own self-care practices.‚Äč

MY PHILOSOPHY
Balance

There is a time for doing and a time for not-doing. I balance my effortful physical and mental activities with restful activities to replenish energy. I say no to myself and others.

Kindness

I try to be kind to myself and to others. Every day I take time to check in with myself and listen to what I need to do to nourish myself. I try to listen to what others need, and offer compassionate help.

Awareness

Self-awareness gives me valuable real-time information about what I need to feel safe and calm, and helps me to recognise harmful behaviours towards myself and others. Through awareness I can cultivate forgiveness.
